Thomas Franke (born January 21, 1988 in Brandenburg an der Havel ) is a German football player who can play in midfield as well as in defense and there especially in central defense .

Career

In his youth Thomas Franke played for FK Hansa Wittstock and SSV Einheit Perleberg before he switched to Energie Cottbus in 2003. In June 2006 he made his debut, still as an A-youth , in the reserve team of the Lausitzer, for which he completed a total of 50 games in the Regionalliga Nord and 16 appearances in the NOFV Oberliga Nord by summer 2010 . After Franke had signed his first professional contract with Energie Cottbus in January 2008, he made his professional debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on April 10, 2010 when he was in the starting line-up in the 4-2 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf and despite a broken nose played through the entire game.

For the 2010/11 season Franke signed a one-year contract with third division club Dynamo Dresden . Having received no new contract in the Saxon capital club, Franke joined in the summer of 2011 in the NOFV-Oberliga Nord antretenden TSG Neustrelitz on, with her in the Regional Northeast graduated rise and in three seasons 82 games. At TSG, Franke was mostly used as a central defender and also acted as team captain in the last few games. In 2015 he moved to Kickers Offenbach in the Regionalliga Südwest , where he was used in 21 games. A year later, FC Viktoria 1889 signed Berlin Franke for the Regionalliga. During the 2017/18 winter break, he joined the top division tennis Borussia Berlin .
