Thomas Gerhardt Hornauer (born July 3, 1960 in Reutlingen ) is managing director and sole shareholder of Telekontor , b2c.tv GmbH & Co. KG and Kanal Telemedial , where he is also program director.

biography

Hornauer is a trained handformer . Initially, as managing director of Telekontor GmbH & Co KG, he became a multimillionaire by operating numerous 0190 hotlines .

In February 2003 he took over the insolvent Baden-Württemberg regional broadcaster B.TV for 1.6 million euros . The license for the full program was granted until April 30, 2004. Hornauer shortened the range of programs and only continued the elements with which the previous owners had also made profits: fortune tellers , card readers and clairvoyants , to whom viewers could ask questions via chargeable telephone numbers and who operated esoteric “life counseling”. These telephone numbers were also operated by Hornauer's company. After the television broadcast of its program, Hornauer will continue its Telemedial channel online as a streaming service.

Hornauer's "Light Crystal Center" in Plüderhausen

In June 2015 he opened the "Lichtkristallzentrum", a gemstone exhibition with gemstone sales in Plüderhausen . On February 25, 2018, Hornauer ran for the election of the mayor of Plüderhausen and, according to the preliminary election result, achieved almost 5% of the votes cast. Hornauer also stood as a candidate in the mayoral election taking place on March 11th in the neighboring city of Welzheim and achieved 4.48% of all votes. He continued unsuccessfully in mayoral elections in Urbach , Remshalden , Kernen im Remstal , Alfdorf and Lorch , where he last received 2% of the vote.

Hornauer is the father of three daughters.

Disputes and public perception

Hornauer appeared as a producer of erotic clips. A porn film anonymously sent to the SPD parliamentary group in Baden-Württemberg , in which Hornauer can be seen filming young women masturbating and lending a hand to the actresses himself , caused outrage .

As part of his television work, Hornauer is said to have massively intimidated employees whom, according to the daily newspaper, he brainwashed in "several hours of one-on-one conversations " . According to employees, the situation at B.TV was sometimes “sect-like”.

After a search of the B.TV business premises in December 2003, the public prosecutor's office investigated Hornauer on suspicion of uniform fraud in 1,503,000 cases and criminal advertising in 501 uniform cases. The public prosecutor's office estimated the damage at 662,823 euros. The background was incorrect information about the number of calls and thus the chances of winning. Due to the statute of limitations , the public suit on September 17, 2009 was not admitted by the Stuttgart Regional Court.

When his station was forced to stop in Baden-Württemberg, several violations of media law were given as the reason. The Stuttgart Administrative Court found that Hornauer had misused the station for personal purposes and thus violated the legal requirement of independence and objectivity of information broadcasts.
