Thomas Teubner (born January 1, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player.

Athletic career

Only ten players were used more often in the East German elite division than the all-rounder in the long history of the top division of the BSG Wismut Aue . For those of the Soviet Aktien-Gesellschaft (SAG) bismuth as a carrier operating entertaining Sports Association from the Erzgebirge he played 251 games in the top flight of East German football .

The 1.83-meter-tall trained electrician, who had come to BSG Wismut in 1969, made his league debut on March 25, 1972. The then 21-year-old newcomer was on the 21st match day of the 1971/72 season in a home draw (1-1) against the SG Dynamo Dresden in the 74th minute for veteran Ernst Einsiedel substitute. In his 14 league years he was used nine times in 20 or more games. Teubner did not play all 26 point games in any season.

Thomas Teubner made the strike from the league collective of violets in the 1984/85 season . On the 13th matchday, the last game before the winter break, he said goodbye to first division football in his twelfth season on December 15, 1984. In the 2-1 win in the Otto-Grotewohl-Stadion at home against 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig , the qualified sports teacher, who was just before his 34th birthday, stood on the field for another 90 minutes as a defender. At the end of this game year, the Auer finished 4th in the league table. This was the best placement in Teubner's time in the 1st team at BSG Wismut Aue. For the following season , which brought with the start of the UEFA Cup, the first European Cup participation of a Wismut team since 1960/61 , he was no longer part of the squad. Before that, Teubner played internationally for the Auer in the 1984 edition of the Intertoto Cup and finished 4th and last with the team from the Erzgebirge in Group 2.

Trivia

Teubner's 38 top division goals for Wismut were only surpassed by nine players in the Auer's first division history.
