Thomas Wörtche
Thomas Wörtche (* 1954 in Mannheim ) is a German literary critic and journalist .
Life
Thomas Wörtche studied German and philosophy in Bochum and Konstanz . In 1987 he received his doctorate on fantastic literature from the University of Konstanz . He is best known as an expert on crime fiction , but also writes on jazz , comics and other arts. Thomas Wörtche published literary reviews and essays in the newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung , Frankfurter Rundschau , taz , Freitag , Die Woche , Weltwoche, among others . Since 2010 Wörtche has been responsible for the CrimeMag area of the online magazine CULTurMAG , of which he is co-editor. In Deutschlandradio Kultur , he is regularly on the air with articles on crime literature.
He has published and continues to publish crime anthologies for various publishers . From 1999 to 2007 Wörtche published the metro series in cooperation with Unionsverlag . From 2013 to 2014 he was editor of the Penser Pulp series in collaboration with Diaphanes . He publishes his own crime program at Suhrkamp.
Wörtche organized crime events, such as the Cream of Crime series and other thematic series in the Bertolt Brecht House in Berlin, as well as the crime series do together with Tobias Gohlis.
Together with Zoë Beck , Jan Karsten and Kirsten Reimers, he founded the publishing house “CulturBooks - electrical books” in 2013, from which he retired in 2014.
Thomas Wörtche was a juror for the KrimiZEIT best list , is a jury member of the German Crime Prize and a juror for the litprom “Weltempfänger” best list . He lives in Berlin.
