Thor André Olsen (born April 29, 1964 ) is a former Norwegian football player . Following his career, the goalkeeper worked as a goalkeeper coach.

Career

Olsen began his career with the lower class playing Mo IL . In 1987 he joined Molde FK in the 1st division . At the end of the 1988 season , which he finished with the team in fourth place, he was named Norway's goalkeeper of the year. In the following season he moved with the club in the cup final, which was lost to Viking FK . In 1991 he moved on to SK Brann within Norway . With the club he played in the 1991 season against relegation, which was avoided in the relegation games after successes against Bryne FK and Strindheim IL . After midfield positions in the following years, he left Norway in late 1993.

Olsen signed on with Stockholm club Djurgårdens IF in the second Swedish division. At the end of the 1994 season he rose with the club to the Allsvenskan . After a sixth place in the first season he finished on the side of Magnus Pehrsson , Klebér Saarenpää , Kaj Eskelinen and Nebojša Novaković in the 1996 season a relegation place. As second in the table behind local rivals Hammarby IF , he missed direct re-promotion with the club. In the promotion games, the team met Östers IF , but failed after a 1-1 draw and a 2-0 defeat. As a result, Olsen's expiring contract was not extended. He then went to the Danish club Aalborg BK , where he acted as a substitute goalkeeper. After an injury to Eddie Gustafsson , the regular first goalkeeper, he moved in early 1999 on loan to the Swedish club IFK Norrköping . After the loan period ended in the summer, he left Denmark and played briefly for Lillestrøm SK in autumn 1999 .

He later returned to his hometown club Mo IL, where he initially worked as a playing goalkeeping coach. After hanging up his football boots, he was reactivated as a substitute goalkeeper in 2007. On the occasion of a cup game against Vålerenga IF , he came on as a substitute for a brief assignment.
