The Thymen nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the town of Fürstenberg / Havel in the Oberhavel district in Brandenburg .

The area with the identification number 1021 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of August 16, 2012 . The 810 hectare nature reserve, in which the 111 hectare Thyme Lake is located, extends north of the main town of Fürstenberg / Havel. The B 96 runs along the western edge and the state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania runs along the northern edge .
