The Kastavenseen-Molkenkammersee nature reserve lies in the area of ​​the cities of Fürstenberg / Havel ( Oberhavel district ) and Lychen ( Uckermark district ) in Brandenburg .

The area with the identification number 1621 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of July 7, 2009 . The approximately 268 hectare nature reserve with the Großer Kastavensee , the Kleiner Kastavensee , the Oberkastavensee and the Molkenkammersee extends southwest of Retzow , a district of the town of Lychen, and east of Neuthymen , a residential area of Fürstenberg / Havel. State road L 15 runs along the southern edge. The state border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania runs north in the western part of the area and west in the eastern part. Not far to the northwest - in the area of the Mecklenburg Lake District - extends the 10-hectare nature reserve Zahrensee near Dabelow .
