The Großer Briesensee nature reserve is located in the municipality of Gerswalde in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg .

The area with the identification number 1042 was placed under nature protection by ordinance of September 12, 1990 . The 113.6 hectare nature reserve with the Großer Briesensee extends west of Briesen , a part of the municipality of Gerswalde. At the western edge of the area which runs the country road L 100, northeast to extending Stiernsee and southwest of the 37.8 hectare Labüskesee .
