The Hutung Sähle nature reserve is a small nature reserve in the Retzow district , a district of the town of Lychen ( Uckermark district , Brandenburg ). It covers approx. 44 ha and was designated in 2002 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg.

location

The nature reserve is located directly south of the village of Sähle , a part of the municipality of Retzow. It begins south of the road that turns off the L15 in the direction of the town center of Sähle, and runs to the L15 that connects Lychen with Fürstenberg / Havel . The western border runs from the southwestern exit to the south to the L15, the eastern border runs from the eastern exit to the southeast to the L15.

It is located in the sand landscape to the southwest in front of the so-called Uckermark terminal moraine arch, which was formed by a partial glacier from the Pomeranian stage of the Vistula glacial period .

In the southern half of the nature reserve, the nature reserve comprises a nutrient-poor peat bog with moss-rich bog vegetation with few trees, an adjoining field tree and another, smaller tree. The largest part of the area is taken up by a dry sand lawn created by sheep herding from an old field fallow .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance on the "Hutung Sähle" nature reserve of December 20, 2002, the purpose of the protection is the preservation, but also the further development of the nature reserve:

  • as a habitat for rare plant associations in transitional and swinging lawn bogs, bog woods, wet, fresh and large sedge meadows, reed beds and on dry fescue grasslands
  • as a habitat for wild animal species, especially large bird, amphibian, reptile and insect species as well
  • the preservation of the habitats of wild, specially protected plant species such as round-leaved sundew ( Drosera rotundifolia ), swamp iris ( Iris pseudacorus ), beach carnation ( Armeria maritima ), crested fern ( Dryopteris cristata ) and black clover ( Menyanthes trifoliata ), but also
  • the restoration of a near-natural water balance and the securing of the water storage capacity of the Kesselmoor and
  • the preservation of the uniqueness and diversity of the small-scale area divided into wet and dry biotopes.

In addition, the protected status serves the preservation and development of the area:
