Ordinance on the foundation of the low-level aircraft destruction badge. RGBl. No. 05/1945

The low-level aircraft destruction badge was donated by Adolf Hitler on January 12, 1945 as a combat badge for the army of the German Wehrmacht .

On January 13, 1945, the High Command of the Wehrmacht issued the relevant implementation regulations, in which it u. a. read: “The special badge is awarded to soldiers who shot down an enemy low-flying aircraft with hand weapons (rifle, submachine gun, machine gun cal. 12 mm and smaller) in this war. For each downed aircraft, a special badge is awarded to the individual shooters who play a decisive role. The sleeve stripe is worn on the right upper arm of the field blouse. Instead of five kills, a badge in gold must be worn. "

The award is a rectangular aluminum web (approx. 30 mm × 80 mm), delimited above and below with 3 mm thick black fabric strips. In the middle is an airplane punched from sheet metal, pointing from top left to bottom right.

It is questionable whether the badge was still awarded because of the advanced war situation.
