The Heeres-Flak-Badge was a military combat badge of the German Wehrmacht in World War II .

introduction

On July 18, 1941, the badge was introduced by decree of the High Command of the Army (OKH) by Walther von Brauchitsch based on the Luftwaffe's anti-aircraft combat badge .

Award Regulations

According to the award regulations, the badge could be awarded to:

  • "The anti-aircraft companies and light batteries of the army anti-aircraft artillery with at least five kills by guns of the same platoon to platoon leaders, gunmen and gunmen, insofar as they were involved in the kills."
  • "The heavy batteries of the army anti-aircraft artillery with at least five kills to the members of the combat battery, as far as they were directly involved in the kills."
  • "The superior leaders of the units involved ..."

On September 4, 1942, the conditions for awarding the Army Flak Badge were adapted to those of the Luftwaffe's flak combat badge by a new order of the OKH.

The badge was issued with a deed of ownership.

Appearance

The wreath of the army flak badge consists of a high oval ring, which is covered with oak leaves and acorns. The center is dominated by a silver-plated 8.8 cm gun punched out of sheet metal . In the upper area the emblem of the Wehrmacht is attached.

The artistic draft came from the Berlin graphic artist Ernst Peekhaus. The silver-plated production was mainly carried out by the Berlin company CF Juncker.

According to the law on titles, medals and decorations of July 26, 1957, wearing the version of the Third Reich in the Federal Republic of Germany is only permitted without National Socialist emblems.
