Franz Fuchs (politician, 1894)

Franz Fuchs (born November 28, 1894 in Neusattl , Bohemia ; † June 10, 1981 in Wiesbaden ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Fuchs completed commercial training from 1908 to 1911 and then worked as a commercial clerk until 1916. From 1916 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Fuchs worked as a union secretary from 1920 to 1928. In 1920 he first became managing director and agitation manager of the Höhr-Grenzhausen district payment office in the Association of Factory Workers in Germany and from 1921 a union employee in Worms . There he became head of the local committee of the General German Trade Union Federation (ADGB) in 1928, and at the same time workers secretary in the SPD city council. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, he was briefly arrested and placed under police supervision. He moved to Wiesbaden and worked there first as a traveler and then again until 1945 as a commercial clerk.

After the Second World War , Fuchs worked in municipal administration. From 1962 to 1966 he was chairman of the Hesse State Board of Trustees of the Indivisible Germany Board of Trustees .

Fuchs was a member of the SPD.

Fuchs was a council member of the city of Worms from 1928 to 1933.

Fuchs was elected to the city council of Wiesbaden in 1946 and was head of city council from 1948 to 1962. He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1954 to 1966. From December 1, 1962 to December 1, 1966 he was President of the State Parliament.

He was a member of the 4th Federal Assembly .
