Tim Stegemann (born August 4, 1992 in Berlin ) is a German athlete who specializes in obstacle courses .
career path
Stegemann completed his training as a foreign trade clerk and then switched to the sports promotion group of the police in Erfurt.
Athletic career
As a student, Stegemann started in the block competition , where his hurdling technique could be improved, but through intensive training this weakness later turned into strength.
In 2008 he became German U18 champion in the 2000 meter obstacle course. The following year he won the title of German U18 runner-up and took part in this discipline at the U18 world championships , where he was eliminated in the preliminary stages.
In 2011, Stegemann took 5th place in the 3000 meter obstacle course at the German U23 championships and in a time of less than nine minutes at the U20 European championships .
In 2012 he reached 3rd place at the German U23 championships as well as with a season best at the German championships .
In 2013, Stegemann came seventh over the 3000 meter obstacle at the German Championships and in 2014 came 10th.
Until 2015, there were no improvements in time, also due to illness, and it was not until 2016 that another jump to 8: 39.97 minutes was achieved.
In 2017 he improved to 8: 31.95 minutes, and a little later Stegemann became German champion in the 3000 meter obstacle course, wafer-thin ahead of Martin Grau .
