Timur Anatoljewitsch Dibirow ( Russian Тимур Анатольевич Дибиров ; born July 30, 1983 in Petrozavodsk , Karelian ASSR , USSR ) is a Russian handball player .

Timur Dibirow was born in Karelia, but grew up in Dagestan , where his family is at home. He started playing handball in 1996 at the children's and youth sports school in Stavropol . From 2001 he played in Tolyatti for the club Lada-ZSK WWS and moved to Medvedi Chekhov in 2001 . There the 1.80 meter tall and 74 kilogram heavy left wing player was under contract until the end of the 2012/13 season and won the championship and - except for 2008 - the cup in every season. With this club he played in the seasons 2004/05 to 2012/13 in the EHF Champions League and in 2005/06 in the European Cup Winners' Cup , which he won. In summer 2013 he moved to the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje . In February 2014, his contract extension to 2020 was announced. With Vardar he won the North Macedonian Championship in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Macedonian Cup in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, the SEHA League in 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and the EHF Champions League in 2017 and 2019. In the EHF Champions League 2013/14 he eliminated the defending champion HSV Hamburg in the round of 16 , but then lost to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the quarter-finals due to the away goals rule .

Timur Dibirow scored 743 goals in 212 international matches for the Russian national team . He was on the squad for the 2010 , 2012 and 2016 European Championships . At the 2013 World Cup , he reached the quarter-finals with Russia and was appointed to the All-Star team as the best left winger.

Dibirow is married to handball player Irina Dibirowa and has one son.
