Tinta is a small town in the Canchis Province ( Cusco Region ) in south-central Peru . In the 2017 census, the population was 2,726; 10 years earlier it was 2,574.
The place is located on the highway Cusco - Puno at road kilometer 110 between the towns of Combapata and San Pedro and on the river Río Vilcanota .
Tinta is known as the birthplace of Tupac Amaru II , who is considered an important figure in the struggle for Peru's independence in the 18th century.
Instituto Superior Pedagógico Público Tupac Amaru (ISPTA or ISPPTA)
The Tupac Amaru University (previously educational) is located in Tinta. Her focus was on the training of bilingual teachers ( Quechua - Spanish).
Due to changes in the Peruvian education policy, this course is no longer in demand and has therefore expired in 2008.
The two new courses in Administration and Tourism have been offered since 2009.
