Titular diocese of Areopolis

Areopolis ( Italian : Areopoli ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .

The name of the ancient bishopric refers to the city of Rabbat-Moab (in antiquity temporarily Areopolis ) in today's Jordan . As a suffragan , the diocese of Areopolis was subordinate to the Metropolitan of Petra .
