Titular Archdiocese of Hierapolis in Phrygia
Hierapolis in Phrygia ( Italian : Gerapoli di Frigia ) is a titular archbishopric of the Roman Catholic Church .
It goes back to a lost bishop's seat in the ancient city of Hierapolis in the Phrygia region of Asia Minor (today western Turkey ), which in late antiquity was politically part of the Roman province of Phrygia Pacatiana .
The titular bishopric is not to be confused with the titular bishopric Hieropolis, which goes back to a bishopric in Hieropolis, also located in Phrygia, in the late antique province of Phrygia Salutaris .
