Tobias Giering (born November 10, 1982 ) is a German cross-country summer biathlete and athlete .

Career

Tobias Giering from SSV Starzach won at the German Championships in Summer Biathlon 2008 in Bayerisch Eisenstein behind Marcel Bräutigam the silver medal in the mass start competition with the small bore rifle and behind Ralf Klauke in the sprint with the small bore rifle.
In addition, he and his younger brother Markus Giering (* 1985) and Daniel Hummel won the bronze medal in the air rifle relay competition as Württemberg I. In 2008, together with his brother Markus and Christian Lenk, as a representative of the LG Badenova Nordschwarzwald at the German championships in cross-country running, he finished third in the team classification in the middle distance. In the individual ranking, he finished 14th.

The following year came a silver medal behind Wolfgang Kinzner in the small-caliber sprint and bronze with the Württembergs relay. A few weeks later, Giering started for the first time in Oberhof at the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships . He was 48th in the sprint and 39th in the pursuit race. In 2010, a third place came in Zinnwald with the Württemberg small-caliber squadron and the runner-up title with the air rifle squadron.

Giering celebrated one of his greatest sporting successes at the German Summer Biathlon Championships in 2012. He competed in all six disciplines and was able to win five medals. In his sixth discipline, the air rifle sprint, he reached fourth place. He was one of the most successful participants in this German championship.

At the 2013 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Haanja , Giering won the bronze medal with the mixed relay together with Judith Wagner , Thordis Arnold and Michael Herr .
