Thordis Arnold (born March 23, 1991 in Meinerzhagen ) is a German cross-country runner - summer biathlete , medium and long distance runner .

Life

Thordis Arnold currently lives and studies in Kassel and starts for SG Falkenhorst Forstenried . She is the most successful German junior in summer biathlon towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century. She won many titles at national junior championships and also successfully represented Germany in other races, such as the IB Summer Cup. In the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne , she finished sixth in the sprint and pursuit. In Oberhof she was 27th in the sprint and 23rd in the pursuit the following year . The Summer Biathlon European Championships 2010 in Osrblie brought the 30th place in the sprint, in the pursuit race she was able to improve to 14th place and with Lena Schäfer, Hendrik Redeker and Niklas Heyser sixth in the relay race. At the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell , Arnold started with the juniors and was runner-up behind Jekaterina Smirnowa in both the sprint and the pursuit . For the mixed relay race she was nominated for the performance class.

At the German Championships in Summer Biathlon 2010 in Zinnwald , Arnold and Kyra Hohage and Stefanie Bösinghaus, representing Westphalia in the relay race with the air rifle, won their first women's title in the performance category. At the Summer European Championships in Martell, she ran her first race in the performance area at an international championship with the mixed relay and missed a medal by one place with Judith Wagner , Marcel Bräutigam and Steffen Jabin in fourth place.
