From 1982–86 he worked as a project manager at Auer + Weber in Stuttgart. This was followed by a work with Joachim Schürmann and a freelance work with Gottfried Böhm in Cologne . At the end of 1987 Tobias Wulf founded his own office in Stuttgart. In addition to his office work, he held a lectureship for design at the University of Stuttgart from 1987 to 1991. Since 1991 he has been Professor of Design and Building Construction at the Stuttgart University of Technology . One of the main focuses of Tobias Wulf's work is educational buildings. He states: "Education is the basis for the level at which we will live society in the future and create cultural values." Significant structural implementations in this area are the North School Center in Stuttgart (2015), the Evangelical Elementary School in Karlsruhe (2013), the Dialog School Center in Cologne (2015) and the Hessenwald School in Weiterstadt (2016). In 2017, Wulf Architects built 4 modular primary schools in Munich. Despite the serial, economically determined construction, the room should be given a special status: "We are of the opinion that a memorable, strong room is needed in which one learns, because learning today means all-day stay, i.e. home at school."
