Todd Stephenson (born June 9, 1988 in Sydney ) is an Australian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Sydney Ice Dogs in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2008 . His brother Scott is also an Australian national ice hockey player.

Career

Todd Stephenson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Sydney Ice Dogs , for which he was initially active from 2003 in the Australian Ice Hockey League and with whom he won the Goodall Cup in 2004. In 2008 he moved to Canada for several months, where he was on the ice for Kamloops Storm in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League . At the beginning of the 2008 AIHL season , he returned to his hometown to the Ice Dogs, for which he has been active again since then. In 2013 he achieved his second success in the Goodall Cup with the Ice Dogs.

International

For Australia , Stephenson took part in the U18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 . After the Australians were relegated to Division III in 2004, the following year they were directly promoted again, so that Stephenson and his team were able to compete again in Division II in 2006. He also took part in the U20 World Championships Division II in 2006 and 2007 for his colors .

In the men's field, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2009 and 2012 and in Division II in 2007 , 2010 , 2011 , when he was promoted to Division I with the Australians in 2013 and 2014 .
