Kleiningersheim Castle

The small Ingersheim Castle occupies a historic building in the Baden-Württemberg community Ingersheim , Kreis Ludwigsburg .

history

The castle is the successor to the castle of the Lords of Ingersheim, which was probably built between the 12th and 14th centuries and fell into ruin in the 16th century .

Around 1580, knight Caspar Nothracht built the castle in the Renaissance style right next to the remains of the castle, some of which are still preserved today . In 1600 the castle was given by the Duke of Württemberg as a fief to the secret government councilor Melchior Jäger from Gärtringen . In 1726 the Baron von Woellwarth bought the castle before the Duchy of Württemberg bought it back a few years later.

In 1911 and 1912 the palace was rebuilt by the architect Simmel for the Stuttgart entrepreneur Carl von Ostertag-Siegle (1860–1924), who had acquired it some time before. In 1963 Walter Leibrecht bought the castle, which was then used as the administration building of Schiller College . Today it serves as the family residence.

Others

The castle is one of the filming locations in the SWR television series “The Church stays in the village” .
