Hochdorf Castle

Hochdorf Castle is a baroque country castle in Hochdorf , a district of the municipality of Eberdingen in the Ludwigsburg district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

After Philipp Heinrich von Ticino had acquired Hochdorf from the Lords of Münchingen in 1709 , he had a country castle built on the southern outskirts in 1710, including a castle garden of over 1.5 hectares. Together with the castle church (today's Martinskirche) and the former sheepfold, the castle forms a kind of courtyard . The castle originally belonged to several commercial and administrative buildings, most of which are located near the castle.

Todays use

The former sheepfold, the former horse stable and the box barn are now used as a gallery, art courtyard and studio.
