Vehingen Castle , also called Vaihingen Castle , is an abandoned hilltop castle at 252  m above sea level. NHN in the district of Vaihingen an der Enz in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The hilltop castle on the Kaltenstein was first mentioned in 1096 as "Castrum Vaihingen" . It was first owned by the Counts of Vaihingen , who they and the city had to sell to the Margraves of Baden around 1324 . In 1334 the castle and town came to the Counts of Oettingen , who sold them to the House of Württemberg in 1339 .
