The Lower Castle Besigheim is a former castle in the main road 32 in the town of Besigheim in the district of Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was built by Margrave Hermann V von Baden in 1215/30 and destroyed in 1693 by French troops during the War of the Palatinate Succession . In 1750 the castle was demolished due to its disrepair except for the mighty 29 m high keep Waldhornturm , which can be climbed as a lookout tower.
Like the upper castle , the lower castle also had a Romanesque chimney and lavatory .
