The castle Richtenberg is an Outbound hilltop castle at a level above Gerlingen in the district of Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was before 1226 by the Lords of Gerlingen, a knightly family , whose members Ministeriale the counts of Calw , built were.
The castle, which was owned by the Counts of Asperg at the beginning of the 14th century, and the village and Glemsgau fell to Württemberg in 1308 . The castle was destroyed in the Imperial War (1311-1312) against Count Eberhard von Württemberg . Their remains were still visible until the 19th century, as can be seen from a land map from 1827.
