Tohumeta ( Tohumetan ) is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the Laulara administrative office ( Aileu municipality ).

The place

Tohumeta is located in the west of the Sucos, at an altitude of 900  m . Here is the primary school of sucos, the Escola Primaria No. 5 .

Tohumeta has 674 inhabitants (2015), of which 357 are men and 317 women. The population density is 96.8 inhabitants / km². There are 96 households in the Suco. Over 91% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Almost 8% speak Mambai .

In 2004 the Suco Fucuculau was annexed to Tohumeta and has since formed its north. Before the 2015 territorial reform, Tohumeta had an area of ​​7.69 km². Now there are 6.96 km². The Suco is located in the west of the Laulara administrative office. To the east is the Suco Madabeno , to the west of the Suco Fatisi . In the south Madabeno borders on the administrative office of Aileu with its Suco Seloi Craic . In the north is the administration office Vera Cruz, belonging to the municipality of Dili, with its Suco Dare . The Bemos , a source river of the Rio Comoro, flows along the northern border during the rainy season . Further to the west, the river is called Beinas .

Only smaller streets connect the Suco with the outside world. For the parliamentary elections in 2007 , the ballot boxes had to be brought to the polling station in the primary school with porters and horses and then picked up again. In the east is the village of Fereleomela ( Fereleometa ), a little further west is Mauliu and in the east Tohumeta .

In the Suco there are the three Aldeias Acadiro , Berlihu-Meta and Tohumeta .

history

At the end of 1979 there was an Indonesian camp in Tohumeta for East Timorese who were to be relocated by the occupiers for better control.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Duarte de Fatima Henrique elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected. The 2016 elections were won by João Maia .
