Madabeno is an East Timorese Suco in the Laulara administrative office ( Aileu municipality ). Madabeno is the administrative seat of the Laulara Administrative Office.

In 2004 the Suco Maneluma was annexed to Madabeno and has since formed its south. Before the 2015 territorial reform, Madabeno had an area of ​​11.58 km². Now there are 12.72 km². The Suco Madabeno is located in the center of the Laulara administrative office. To the east is the Suco Cotolau , to the west of the Suco Tohumeta . In the south Madabeno borders on the administrative office of Aileu with its sucos Seloi Craic and Aissirimou . In the north is the administration office Vera Cruz, belonging to the municipality of Dili, with its Suco Dare . The Bemos , a source river of the Rio Comoro, flows along the northern border during the rainy season .

The country road leads through the south from the state capital Dili to the municipality capital Aileu . The villages of Bislau , Turiscai ( Mambai for "trunk of the turi tree "), Manahalu and Belumhatu ( Belumhato ) are located on it. A little to the north are the towns of Lisimu and Matapati and on the eastern border the village of Manufoni . Manahalu has a medical station and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Catolica Madabeno . There is another primary school in Manufoni.

In the Suco there are the six Aldeias Belumhatu , Desmanhata , Lismori , Manehalo , Manufoni and Remapati .

Residents

1543 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 760 are men and 783 women. The population density is 121.3 inhabitants / km². There are 241 households in the Suco. Over 88% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Almost 12% speak Mambai .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Manuel Sarmento was elected Chefe de Suco. Francisco Rodrigues Pereira won the elections in 2009 and Afonso Hendrique in 2016 .
