Tom Wallisch (born July 22, 1987 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is a professional freeskier . He starts in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air .

Life

Tom Wallisch attended Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale , Pennsylvania in 2006 . After attending this school, he moved to Salt Lake City , the capital of Utah , and studied at the University of Utah . He travels the world, but his permanent residence is in Salt Lake City.

Career

His career began in 2007 with the Level 1 Superunknown video competition. Since 2009 he has been participating in competitions on the AFP World Tour. He won his first victories in slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Northstar California and at the Dumont Cup in Newry . At the European Freeski Open 2009 in Laax , he finished second in slopestyle. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he took second place at the Freeski Open in Cardrona and first place at the New Zealand Winter Games in Cardrona . In the further course of the season he won the Slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Snowbasin and took second place in Breckenridge . He came third in the Big Air competition in Barcelona and in slopestyle at the Dumont Cup in Newry . In March 2010 he won the gold medal in Slopestyle at the Winter X Games Europe 2010 in Tignes . In the 2011/12 season he won slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and Killington . In Snowbasin he took second place in slopestyle. In January 2012 he reached 96 points in the Slopestyle at the Winter X Games 2012 in Aspen and won the gold medal. He completed his first World Cup race in March 2012 in Mammoth , which he won. In the same month he won the silver medal in slopestyle at the Winter X Games Europe 2012 in Tignes. At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in 2013 in Voss , he won gold in slopestyle. In the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons he took part in three World Cup races. He came in eighth, sixth and fifth in slopestyle.
