Tomasz Pilch is a nephew of the ski jumper Adam Małysz and competes for the WSS Wisła . He made his debut on August 29 and 30, 2015 in Szczyrk in the FIS Cup , where he finished 33th and 27th. He then started in other competitions in the FIS Cup. On September 24th and 25th, 2016, Pilch made his debut in the Continental Cup in two competitions in Wisła . Here he reached positions 49 and 37 and thus missed his first Continental Cup points. Only six months later, in March 2017, Pilch started another Continental Cup competition in Zakopane , but did not reach the top 30 here either.
On December 9, 2017, Pilch surprisingly won the Continental Cup competition in Whistler , British Columbia, when he only started for the fifth time . A week later, Pilch took his second victory on the large hill at Ruka . He was then used for the first time in the World Cup on January 4, 2018 in the third competition of the Four Hills Tournament 2017/18 , but missed the points as 42nd. At his third World Cup competition on January 28, 2018 at Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane , he jumped into the points for the first time as 30th. He was then nominated for the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2018 in Kandersteg , Switzerland , where he narrowly missed the medal ranks in individual jumping as fourth. In the junior team competition, he finished fifth with the Polish team and eighth in the mixed team competition.
