Paweł Wąsek (born June 2, 1999 in Cieszyn ) is a Polish ski jumper .

Career

Paweł Wąsek starts for the WSS Wisła . He made his debut on September 21, 2014 in Szczyrk in the FIS Cup , where he finished 67th, and took part a few days later in Râşnov for the first time in two FIS races, which ended in 12th and 13th place. Then she started in other competitions in the FIS Cup.

In January 2015 Wąsek started at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Tschagguns and reached 42nd place in the individual competition and sixth place in the team competition with Dominik Kastelik , Damian Skupień and Dawid Jarząbek .

On September 10 and 11, 2016, Wąsek made his debut in the Continental Cup in two competitions in Lillehammer . Here he reached places 20 and 38. His best result so far at the Continental Cup was a sixth place in Ruka, Finland in December 2018.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City , Utah , Wąsek took seventh place in the individual competition and reached fifth in the team competition together with Dominik Kastelik , Bartosz Czyż and Tomasz Pilch and in the mixed team competition with Kinga Rajda , Dawid Jarząbek and Anna Twardosz seventh place. A year later, at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Kandersteg, Switzerland, he initially only achieved 22nd place in the individual competition and then came fifth in the team competition with Bartosz Czyż, Kacper Juroszek and Tomasz Pilch and eighth in the mixed team competition with Kinga Rajda, Joanna Kil and Tomasz Pilch.

On September 9 and 10, 2017, Wąsek started in Tchaikovsky for the first time in the Summer Grand Prix and as 27th scored his first four points straight away. He was also used in the competitions in Wisła and Courchevel 2018, but could not score any further points. On January 20, 2019, he was used for the first time in the World Cup as part of the national group in jumping on the Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane and reached his first World Cup points as 27th.

Wąsek currently lives in Ustroń .
