Tommy Vext
Thomas Cummings (born April 15, 1982 in Brooklyn , New York City ), better known by his stage name Tommy Vext , is an American singer .
Career
Cummings grew up in Brooklyn and founded the band Maniacal Disciple in 1996 , later renamed Vext . Cummings found this word in the texts of the Wu-Tang Clan , from which his stage name originated. Cummings released two studio albums with the band Vext. In 2006 Vext joined the band Divine Heresy from the Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares and released the album Bleed the Fifth a year later . But in 2008 Vext left the band due to irreconcilable differences with Cazares.
Tommy Vext then joined the band Snot , which broke up after the accidental death of their singer Lynn Strait in 1998 and have now reformed. The band played various concerts with Vext. However, a planned second studio album did not appear. Vext formed the band Westfield Massacre, who released a self-titled album in 2016. In 2017 Tommy Vext jumped in for some concerts in Europe as the singer of the band Five Finger Death Punch after the actual singer Ivan Moody went to a rehab clinic because of his alcohol problems.
Also in 2016, Vext founded the band Bad Wolves with former DevilDriver drummer John Boecklin, guitarists Doc Coyle ( God Forbid ) and Chris Cain ( Bury Your Dead ) and bassist Kyle Konkiel ( In This Moment ) . Two years later the debut album Disobey was released . The band became known through their second single Zombie , a cover version of the song by the Cranberries . The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan was supposed to record the song with the band, but died on the day of recording in London . The single went platinum in the US and Canada .
