Torben Hansen (born October 27, 1951 in Skamstrup ) is a former Danish football player .

Player career

Hansen was active from 1969 to 1973 for the football amateur club located southwest of Holbæk in Knabstrup before he moved to the football department of the second division Holbæk B&I . He crowned his debut in professional football with a 3-1 win at home against Fuglebakken with all three goals.

In the 1973 season - the Danish leagues were played in the calendar year at that time - he was the top scorer in the 2nd division with 24 goals and made a decisive contribution to the promotion of his team to the 1st division . Since the following season with the first match day was not scheduled until March 31, 1974, he moved to FC Bayern Munich during the winter break of the 1973/74 Bundesliga season , for which he did not play a competitive game, but played eleven friendly games in which he scored 13 goals scored.

In the summer of 1974 he returned during the current first division season to Holbæk B&I and was with six goals still the best goalscorer of his club that season, which could be kept fourth.

In the following season he was the most successful shooter of his colors with 19 goals and contributed significantly to second place in the championship. At the end of the 1977 season he rose with the club as bottom of the table in the 2nd division. For Holbæk B&I he played 124 first and second division games and scored 66 first and second division goals, including the four-fold success on November 16, 1975, in the 6-0 win against Nykøbing Falster BK in 1901 .

Internationally, Hansen played twice in the Intertoto Cup and once in the UEFA Cup competition. In 1975 he played all six games in Group 4 , with the only win on August 2 in the home game against SC Telstar 4-1. In 1976 he was only used in Group 7 on July 10 in the 2-1 defeat against AS Ostend . His only goal at international club level he scored in the second leg of the first round of the UEFA Cup in the 1: 2 defeat (at the meanwhile 1: 1) against the Polish representative FKS Stal Mielec , against whom he was in the 0: 1 defeat also participated in the first leg.

National team

Hansen played five times for the U-21 national team and made his debut on May 8, 1973 in Randers in the 2-0 defeat against the German U-21 national team . He played his last international match in this age group on April 7, 1976 in Bremerhaven in the 0-1 defeat against the German amateur national team . He played his only game for the senior national team on September 23, 1973 in Trondheim in a 1-0 win over the national team of Norway .

Coaching career

After his active football career, Hansen coached various lower-class clubs on Zealand .
