Skamstrup Sogn is a former parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to the Harde Tuse Herred in the then Holbæk office , then to the Tornved municipality in the Vestsjællands office , which was merged into the Holbæk municipality in the Sjælland region as part of the local government reform on January 1, 2007 . On December 2, 2012 Skamstrup Sogn was merged with the east neighboring Frydendal Sogn to Skamstrup-Frydendal Sogn.
On October 1, 2012, 1724 inhabitants lived in the parish, 57 in Frydendal Sogn. The church “Skamstrup Kirke” is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities were in the west Holmstrup Sogn , in the northwest Jyderup Sogn , in the north Stigs Bjergby Sogn , in the northeast Mørkøv Sogn and in the east Frydendal Sogn and Undløse Sogn , also in the neighboring Sorø municipality in the southeast Niløse Sogn and in the neighboring Kalundborg municipality in the southwest Reerslev Sogn .
