Holmstrup Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Skippinge Herred in what was then Holbæk Amt , then to Tornved Municipality in Vestsjællands Amt , which was merged into Holbæk Municipality in the Sjælland region as part of local government reform on January 1, 2007 .
The parish has 445 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Holmstrup Kirke" is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities are Jyderup Sogn in the northeast and Skamstrup Sogn in the southeast , and Reerslev Sogn and Buerup Sogn in the neighboring Kalundborg municipality to the west .
