The FK Armavir , actually Futbolny klub Armavir ( Russian Футбольный клуб Армавир ) is a football club from the southern Russian city of Armavir .

history

The club was founded in 1959 in the Soviet Union as Torpedo Armawir and took part in Soviet championships from 1960. In 1969 Torpedo Armawir was dissolved. It was not until 1990 that the club was reactivated and accepted into the fourth-highest Soviet league.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the club was divided into the newly founded, third-class 2nd division in 1992 . Torpedo couldn't stay there for long and was relegated to the 3rd football league after two seasons . In 1995 they managed to return to the third division, where the team spent three seasons before the club was dissolved again in 1998. In 2009 Torpedo was re-established in the third-class 2nd division, Squadron South .

At the end of the 2014/15 season, the team secured first place in the southern season of the third division, which was now played as Perwenstwo PFL, and thus rose for the first time in the Perwenstwo FNL , the second division in Russia. In the 2015/16 season , the relegation was already determined four game days before the end of the season.

In June 2016 the club was renamed FK Armawir . The club has been playing second class since 2018.
