Torsten Schemmel (born January 28, 1979 in Stendal ) is a German actor .
Life
Torsten Schemmel studied acting first with Ulrich Schwarz and later at the Film Acting School in Cologne and at the Theater Academy in Western Pomerania . Even before studying at the Vorpommern Theater Academy, he played at various theaters such as the Plauen-Zwickau Theater, the Gera Theater, the Dresden Theater of the Young Generation, the Leipzig Theater of the Young World, the Archa Theater in Prague, and the Greiz City Theater at many small city theaters such as Reichenbach, Olbernhau, Bad Elster, Tabarz and others.
He previously completed an apprenticeship in business administration and media studies and worked, among other things, as a draftsman and author for various fanzines and The Walt Disney Company .
Since 2009 he has been part of the regular ensemble of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne Anklam .
He received special attention in 2008 as a Brecht actor in the role of Azdak in The Caucasian Chalk Circle and in 2011 in the role of landowner Puntila in Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti , both directed by Jürgen Kern . In 2014 he played the role of "Stanley Kowalski" in Endstation Sehnsucht by Tennessee Williams, directed by Oliver Trautwein.
He has made guest appearances at the Schauspielhaus Neubrandenburg , the Landestheater Neustrelitz , the Theater Vorpommern Greifswald, the Theater Putbus, the Theater Elblag (Poland), the Theater Archa (Prague), the Landesbühne Schwaben, the Staatstheater Schwerin, the Staatsschauspiel Bochum the Schaubühne Cologne, the theater "Die Schotte" Erfurt, the National Theater Weimar, the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, the Theater der Junge Welt Leipzig, the Schauspiel Dortmund and the Salten guest performances in Bad Bergzabern.
Torsten Schemmel also works as a director and radio play speaker - as well as a lecturer for the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, Police and Justice of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
He is the father of a daughter and lives on the island of Usedom .
