Trölsberg is a place in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria and a town in the municipality of Freistadt in the district of Freistadt .

geography

Trölsberg is mainly at 600  m above sea level. A. southwest of the community capital between the Jaunitz in the north and the 732  m above sea level. A. high Trölsberg in the south, approx. 2½ kilometers south of the city center of Freistadt.

The landscape belongs to the north of the Central Mühlviertel highlands .

history

In 1938, at the time of the Anschluss , when large municipalities were created all over Austria, the municipality of Freistadt was enlarged in the south and southwest, which also included the former Zeißer districts in the north, which, like Galgenau (municipalities of Freistadt, Kefermarkt), belonged to the municipality of Zeiß City came.

Economy and Infrastructure

From 1830–32 the horse-drawn railway Budweis (České Budějovice) - Linz along the Jaunitz was built here. The Summerauer Bahn has been running here since 1873, and Freistadt station is right at the foot of the Trölsberg, on the northern edge of the village
