Trauma is an American television series produced by Universal Media Studios from 2009 to 2010 .

action

The viewer accompanies several rescue teams , including on ambulances and helicopters . In addition to the primary use of EMT paramedics , the series also shows the private life of the individual characters and the processing of experiences from everyday professional life.

The starting point for the action is the first anniversary of an accident in which a rescue helicopter and another helicopter collide after admitting a patient, which nobody survives except for the paramedic of the rescue helicopter. On that anniversary, the Paramedic will be back in service.

Due to the accident, which meant the death of a paramedic and serious injuries to the other, the main characters change. The survivor, Palchuck, becomes a self-destructive adrenaline junkie, Boone transforms from a quiet family man to a stray philanderer, and Carnahan, whose lover died in a rescue helicopter, struggles with sleeping problems. The series is set on the streets and hospitals of San Francisco and the sky over the city.

production

One month after the US launch, NBC announced that no more episodes over the 13 already ordered will be produced. On November 19, 2009, NBC refuted his statement and ordered 3 more episodes. Due to the poor ratings for the Jay Leno Show , NBC announced the production of four more episodes.

In early April 2010, NBC cut the episode count to 18. On May 14, 2010, The Hollywood Reporter reported that NBC had canceled the series.

reception

“It's entirely possible that these people and their problems will become more interesting as the series goes along, but you can't tell from the pilot; at this point they're still constructs more than real characters. "

“It is of course possible that these people and their problems will become more interesting as the series progresses, but that cannot be said now; at the moment they are more constructs than real characters "

- Mike Hale : The New York Times
