Tri Nations 2000 was the fifth edition of the annual Tri Nations rugby union tournament . Six games took place between July 15 and August 26, 2000. Australia won the tournament for the first time. The opening match at Telstra Stadium in Sydney set a record attendance for rugby games with 109,878 visitors.
