The Rugby Championship 2016

The Rugby Championship 2015 was the fourth edition of the annual rugby union tournament The Rugby Championship , the successor to the Tri Nations competition, which has existed since 1996. In contrast to previous seasons, this year the competition was only held on three weekends between July 17 and August 8, 2015. Each of the four national teams played only once against the other three teams. This shortening gave the teams more preparation time for the World Cup in England .

Australia won the tournament for the first time; Including the previous competition, it was the first tournament victory since 2011. South Africa placed at the bottom of the table for the first time.
