Tris (2-chloroisopropyl) phosphate , abbreviated to TCPP or TCIPP , is a chemical compound . It is a phosphoric acid ester and is used as a flame retardant . The widespread use of TCPP in plastics and the fact that it cannot be removed efficiently in sewage treatment plants means that it is present in traces of waste water.
TCPP is a substitute for TCEP and has been used to an increasing extent since 1960.
Substance evaluation
TCPP is one of the chemical substances that are produced in large quantities (" High Production Volume Chemical ", HPVC) and for which the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) collects data on possible hazards (" Screening Information Dataset ", SIDS ) was made.
