Tristan Dekker (born March 27, 1998 in The Hague ) is a Dutch football player . He plays in the position of right-back and is under contract with VVV-Venlo, and in his career so far he has also played for Dutch junior national teams.

Career

Tristan Dekker was born in the royal seat of The Hague to a South Korean mother who was adopted by a Dutch family and a Dutch father who lived in Australia as a teenager. He started playing football in Rijswijk, near his hometown, when he joined VV Haaglandia. During his childhood, Dekker was drawn to the ADO Den Haag football school. For the A-youth (U19) of The Hague, he came to 20 appearances and 1 goal. For the 2016/17 season, Dekker moved to Venlo on the German border to VVV-Venlo. On August 12, 2016, at the age of 18, he made his professional debut in the Dutch second division against local rivals MVV Maastricht and prepared the 2-1 winning goal by Moreno Rutten in stoppage time. In his first season in professional football Tristan Dekker was used regularly and rose to the Eredivisie with VVV-Venlo. Here he was stopped by appendicitis, so that he came to only 15 games in his first season in the top Dutch division. In the following two seasons Dekker lost his regular place and came to only 14 missions across seasons.

National team

From 2013 to 2014 Tristan Dekker played four times for the Dutch U16 national team. With the U19 selection, he took part in the 2017 U19 European Championship in Georgia and came to three appearances at this tournament, Dekker's only one for this team. On March 22, 2019, he played his only game for the U20 national team of the Netherlands in a 3-2 win in the test match in Rijnsburg against Mexico.
