Career

society

Van Ooijen started playing football in the youth teams of OJC Rosmalen and FC Den Bosch . At the age of eleven he joined the PSV Eindhoven youth academy, where he was trained until the 2011/12 season. Subsequently, the midfielder moved up to the second men's team , with whom he competed in the Beloften Eredivisie, which was later disbanded . Between summer and winter 2012, van Ooijen was used for the first time in the professional team and completed three starting eleven for them in the Cup and in the Europa League . In the European Cup he did not get beyond the group stage with PSV, in the national Cup, however, the final was lost to AZ Alkmaar ; for this they won the Supercup against champions Ajax in the summer .

In the 2013/14 season van Ooijen was able to establish himself in the second team, now played with her in the professionally oriented Eerste Divisie and was henceforth active as " six " and deputy team captain. Since he had Oscar Hiljemark and captain Stijn Schaars in midfield in front of him in the first team , he did not extend his contract in Eindhoven and moved to Deventer for Eredivisie rivals Go Ahead Eagles on a free transfer . Van Ooijen was used for the Adler in both the first and second division, but missed part of the season due to an ankle injury.

After just one year the Brabant left Deventer and stayed with Heracles Almelo for three seasons . Only in his last season did he manage to establish himself in the first team, after having held more offensive positions at times, but did not extend his expiring contract here either. For league rivals VVV-Venlo , van Ooijen, who tied himself for two years, played in central midfield as well as on the wings, scored two goals in his first season and prepared five more. Until the end of the 2019/20 season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic , van Ooijen was a regular in midfield and on the left attacking flank, scored five goals in 23 competitive games and finished 13th with Venlo.

The Dutchman then went to Germany , where he received a two-year contract with third division club KFC Uerdingen 05 , which four midfielders had already left at the time of the transfer.

National team

Between 2006 and 2013 van Ooijen completed eleven international matches for the KNVB's junior teams .
