Gino Fechner (born September 5, 1997 in Bochum ) is a German soccer player . The midfielder has been under contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern since summer 2017 . Fechner is the son of former Bundesliga defender Harry Fechner .
Career
society
Fechner started playing football at SV Eintracht Grumme before joining the youth team at VfL Bochum in 2004 at the age of seven . There he went through all youth classes and played in the B-Junior Bundesliga for the first time in the 2013/14 season . In the following season he played with the U19 in the A-Junior-Bundesliga . In 2015 he moved to RB Leipzig, where he also became a member of the U19s, but from the start he also played for the second team of the Red Bulls in the Regionalliga. He played a total of 35 league games for RB Leipzig II until 2017. He was twice a member of the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga , but was not used. After the Leipzig team's second team was canceled in the summer of 2017, Fechner moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He made his debut for the Red Devils on July 30, 2017 in the 3-0 defeat on matchday 1 against 1. FC Nürnberg , where he came on in the 60th minute.
On May 10, 2018, 1. FC Kaiserslautern announced that Fechner had signed a new contract until 2020 after they had been relegated to the third division .
National team
In 2014 Fechner was nominated for the U-18 national team for the first time . He made his debut on November 13, 2014 in a 4-0 win over the Netherlands. On September 4, 2015, he made his debut for the German U-19 national team for the first time under coach Marcus Sorg . With her, Fechner also played three games in the U-19 European Football Championship in 2016 , in which the team was eliminated after the preliminary round. He has played in the German U-20 national team since 2016 .
