Carlo Sickinger (born July 29, 1997 in Karlsruhe ) is a German football player . He is currently under contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern .

Career

Sickinger began his football career at FC Spöck and moved from there to the youth department of SV Sandhausen . In 2012 he joined the youth department of the then second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern .

There he went through the youth teams from the U17 to the U19 to the second team . In the U21, Sickinger was a regular player and played over 60 games. In the 1-1 draw against 1. FC Nürnberg on December 16, 2017, the 18th matchday of the 2017/18 second division season , the midfielder was in the first team's matchday squad for the first time, but never played. On February 8, 2018, he signed his first professional contract. At the end of the season Kaiserslautern was relegated to the 3rd division ; Since then, Sickinger has been a permanent member of the 1. FCK professional squad. He made his first professional appearance on December 8, 2018 in a 0-0 draw in the third division game against the Würzburger Kickers . In the 1: 3 home defeat against VfL Osnabrück on March 24, 2019, the 30th matchday, he scored his first professional goal at the end of the game. At the beginning of November 2019, the midfielder was appointed as his successor after the temporary removal of team captain Christoph Hemlein from the professional squad of head coach Boris Schommers .
