society

On April 29, 2009, the Austrian U-21 national goalkeeper was invited to a trial by the Blackburn Rovers . After his contract with Austria Kärnten had expired and he had only played two games in two years, he signed a three-year contract with SK Rapid Vienna on June 17, 2009 . There he was used in the second team. In the summer of 2010 he moved up to the squad of the professional team, where he had to be content with the role of substitute player as the third goalkeeper.

On November 26th, 2011 Lukas Königshofer celebrated his professional debut. Coach Peter Schöttel surprisingly nominated him at the championship game of SK Rapid Wien in Mattersburg instead of the regular goalkeeper Helge Payer . Königshofer thanked Schöttel for his trust in the sixth minute of stoppage time, when he blocked a free kick by Patrick Bürger with a brilliant save and thus secured the 2-1 victory for SK Rapid Wien.

In the summer of 2014, Königshofer moved to the 3rd division of Germany for Halleschen FC . He made his first championship appearance on October 18, 2014 in the game at Holstein Kiel (0: 3).

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the regional league team Stuttgarter Kickers .

Königshofer started his national team career on September 5, 2007 in the Austrian U-19 selection with a 3-1 win over Romania . This was followed by two games in the Austrian U-20 national team . Under coach Andreas Herzog he was called up to the squad of the Austrian U-21 team , where he was used in five games. The highlight was the qualifying matches for the U-21 European Football Championship against Scotland (1: 0), Azerbaijan (1: 2) and Albania (2: 2).
