Rijad Kobiljar (born April 8, 1996 in Sarajevo ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player who also has US citizenship. The attacking midfielder is under contract with KFC Uerdingen 05 in Germany and has played an international match for the U21s in Bosnia-Herzegovina .
Career
society
Kobiljar was born a few months after the end of the Bosnian War in Sarajevo , the country's capital. He later emigrated with his parents to the USA and attended the university there in Jacksonville , for whose football team, the Jacksonville Dolphins , he was active.
At the age of 19 he returned to his hometown and was signed by FK Sarajevo after being scouted by its scout Semjon Milošević . This awarded him for the 2015/16 season to first division competitor NK Travnik , for whom Kobiljar came on his first thirteen appearances in professional football. As table thirteenth, Travnik rose at the end of the season. The midfielder spent the first half of the following season after a move from Sarajevo with city rivals FK Olimpik , where he became a regular. During the winter break, the reigning master HŠK Zrinjski Mostar signed him , with whom Kobiljar was able to defend the title.
On loan, the midfielder was under contract with NK GOŠK Gabela in 2017/18 , for which he played 16 of 18 first division games. During the winter break, the loan deal was ended prematurely and Kobiljar was sold to the Slovenska Nogometna Liga to the NK Olimpija Ljubljana . Without a competitive game, the Bosnian won the cup and championship double with the club . In February 2019, he switched to league rivals NK Rudar Velenje , for whom the Bosnian subsequently made 36 competitive games (four goals, six assists).
The German third division club KFC Uerdingen 05 signed Kobiljar around a year later within the winter transfer window.
