Troy is a city in Miami County , Ohio , United States . At the 2010 census , the population was 25,058. Troy is the county seat of Miami County and statistically part of the Dayton - metropolitan region .

Troy lies on both banks of the Great Miami River .
history
In 1913 Troy was hit by severe flooding during the Great Dayton Flood .
Culture
The Strawberry Festival has been held annually on the first weekend in June since 1977, when Troy celebrates the strawberry harvest in the fields in the area. Since 1980 the three-day festival and the parade that runs through the streets of the city have had their own motto.
Since 2003, the exhibition Sculptures on the Square has taken place every two years in Troy Town Square . Sculpture works by artists such as John Seward Johnson Jr. are on display from May through September .
Museums
There are many museums in Troy, including the Historic WACO Field , the Weaver Aircraft Company's historic airport that houses the WACO Air Museum .
The Troy-Haynor Cultural Center , located in the former home of Mary Jane Hayner built in 1814, not only offers a range of events and courses, but also hosts a number of exhibitions, including the Hayner Distillery Company Permanent Exhibition .
