Tuesday Night Music Club is the debut album by the American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow . It was released on August 3, 1993 by A&M Records .
Emergence
The title of the album comes from the "Tuesday Night Music Club", a group of musicians around Sheryl Crow, who met on Tuesday evening to work on the album. These musicians also co-wrote the songs, especially Kevin Gilbert , who Crow was also friends with at the time. After the lead single Leaving Las Vegas was not particularly successful, the album gained more attention after the hit All I Wanna Do.
reception
The album sold at least 4.5 million copies in the United States alone . It reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 and double platinum status . Crow won three Grammy Awards for the 1995 album : Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Female Vocal Performance.
The record is featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die .
